The PCB is pleased to be performing two concerts in February: our annual performance at the USC Band Clinic in Columbia, SC (Feb. 13), and a special invitation performance at the Gaillard Center in Charleston, SC as the finale concert for the CBDNA/NBA Conference (Feb. 20).
The concerts will be featuring some familiar pieces, as well as a newly commissioned work by James Stephenson titled “there are no words.” The piece was composed in response to the mass shooting at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, SC last year, and was originally written for a small ensemble. The PCB is honored to premiere the wind band arrangement at these two upcoming performances.
For more information about our upcoming concerts, please visit our Performances page or our Facebook page.
Additional thanks to Gil Shuler for the use of his design, “we shall overcome” to further honor the memories of those fallen. We could think of no better imagery to pair with this performance.
